The Adolescent Years (Ages 10 and below)
Otoplasty
During adolescence, children may go through otoplasty, a procedure that enhances the appearance of the ears. This is done to address ears that may look like they’re jutting out or sticking out too much.
This procedure may help children avoid feeling embarrassed about their appearance, especially when trying to fit into their friend groups in school.
The Teenage Years (Ages 13 to 19)
Rhinoplasty
Since the nose is a central feature of the face, teenagers would want their nose to complement the rest of their face in order to boost their self-esteem and confidence. A not-so-ideal nose profile compels them to undergo rhinoplasty, or a nose reshaping procedure.
This treatment is only done when the teenager has fully developed their facial features, which is around 15 to 17 years of age. An exception is when the teenager experiences breathing problems, in which case, the doctor can perform rhinoplasty on younger patients.
Breast Reduction
Around this time, teenage girls may also look into breast reduction, as some may find the size of their breasts to hinder physical activity and cause back and neck pain. Smaller breasts will help them move more easily and freely during physical activities.
The Twenties (Ages 20 to 29)
Breast Augmentation and Gynecomastia
Breast augmentation is the most popular procedure in this age group, as women start to feel insecure about the appearance of their breasts. This may be due to physical changes brought by pregnancy, weight fluctuations, and other factors that may cause breasts to sag or change appearance.
As for men, gynecomastia is performed to reduce the appearance of large breasts.
Liposuction and Tummy Tuck
Liposuction and Tummy Tuck also appeal to adults who want to get rid of problem areas of the body, specifically ones which have accumulated hard-to-shed fat. Adults may also add an abdominal etching procedure for a more toned appearance.
The Thirties (Ages 30 to 39)
Body Sculpting and Liposuction
When people reach their thirties, they may experience a decline in metabolism that results to the easier and more stubborn formation of fat in their bodies. At times, even a challenging diet and fitness regime can’t get rid of these pockets of fat. This pushes them to consider liposuction or body sculpting procedures: a surer way to eliminate the fat and tone up their figure.
Tummy Tuck
The tummy tuck procedure or abdominoplasty is also a much sought after treatment to tighten the skin around the stomach that may have been stretched out during pregnancy.
The Forties (Ages 40 to 49)
Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is an extremely common procedure that people in this age range demand. The forties is the the age when men and women experience signs of aging, causing their eyelids to look droopy and tired. An eyelid surgery is a solution for patients who want to retain a youthful appearance.
Botox and Fillers
This is also the age group that begins to experience fine lines and wrinkles, which makes them go for procedures including Botox and fillers to help them smooth out aging and sagging skin.
The Fifties (Ages 50 And Above)
Facelift
Carrying over procedures popular in the previous age group like eyelid surgery, people in their fifties also often go for facelift surgeries to address sagging skin, wrinkles, and deflated cheeks. This treatment helps give patients a more youthful look.
Different age groups demand different treatments that help them address problem areas most prominent during a particular time period. It’s important to choose a clinic that understands your needs and wants as well as makes you comfortable all throughout the procedure, no matter how old you are.
